Curriculum Requirements

Bachelor of Arts in Criminalistics

 

59-60 credit hours of courses should include:

 

Chemistry (28-30 credit hours): 105, 106, 110, 150, 207, 208, 209, 210, 301, 303, 350-WI, 440 (2hrs, or CRJU 421 3hrs)

Statistics (3 credit hours): STAT 213 or CRJU 430

Biology (11 credit hours): 106, 120, 202

Physics (4 credit hours): 203

Criminal Justice (11-14 credit hours): 101, 342, 407-WI, 420, 421 (3 credit hours, or Chem 440 2 credit hours)

Students wishing to pursue a graduate degree in the criminalistics or forensics fields should investigate the admission requirements of the graduate program(s) to which they might want to apply and tailor their studies to meet those requirements.

Suggested first and second year course sequence:
First Year
Fall Semester: CHEM 105, MATH 151, BIOL 120
Spring Semester: CHEM 106, CHEM 110, CHEM 150, CRJU 101

Second Year
Fall Semester: CHEM 207, CHEM 209, CRJU 342, STAT 213
Spring Semester: CHEM 208, CHEM 210, CHEM 350-WI (taught alternate years), BIOL 202
