2) Social Work Department Review
a. Brenda DuBois presented the Program Review for the Master of Social Work; she made the following points:
i. MSW is a relatively new program (1999)
ii. Initial accreditation received; long-term accreditation is forthcoming
iii. One of the main goals of the department is to further develop University-Agency partnerships
iv. Graduates from the program take jobs all over the U.S.
v. Unique variables in Ambrose program: empowerment (leading authors on this technique); unique focus; Catholic setting; smaller size;
vi. (Rodrigues-Fisher commended the department on annual social justice conference)
vii. Big Challenge: Department administers five cohort groups simultaneously (part time and full time)
viii. At present the Department exists comfortably in the College of Arts and Sciences
ix. Program needs unique Statistics course for Social Work problems and applications; course offered during unique times

3) Koch recommended that EPC consider streamlining the program review process for those departments that require a separate accreditation process by allowing department reviews to coincide with accreditation reviews; the recommendation was received favorably, though no formal decision was made
4) Financial Aid/grading policy
a. Sanborne answered questions about the University policy which prohibits students who are delinquent in their payments from withdrawing from classes, thereby threatening to leave them with an academic "F" for non-academic reasons
b. The question arose: Who has the authority to make this decision? Answer: The EPC can make a recommendation to the Officers.
c. Schlueter agreed to investigate the matter further, and to make a recommendation at the next meeting
