The minutes of the November 27th meeting were read and approved. (Terry Schlabach moved, Kris Eitrheim seconded)
Motion to create a finance minor in the Department of Economics and
Finance. The requirements would be: Foundation courses- Acct 201 & 202, Bus
205, Econ 201 & 202 and the following Finance Courses: Bus 303, 304,
306, 340, and one of the following (Econ 307, 331, or Bus 335). Moved by Greg
Bereskin, seconded by Michael Hustedde.
Chris Lee presented the Economics and Finance proposal for a minor in
Finance, explaining that students, particularly those in Accounting, had
requested such a minor. The minor was
put together by the faculty in Finance. Discussion followed about the number of
credit hours for the program. Chris Lee explained that although it seems like
many credits, in fact, the Accounting students it would benefit would have some
of these courses. The faculty feel all courses are necessary. Motion passed.
Motion to add Mus 104: Piano Class I to the courses approved for General
Education Status in the content area Creative Arts – Group II. (Terry Schlabach
moved, Kris Eitrheim seconded).
The Music Department discussed the new group keyboard class and answered
concerns about suitable classroom space. Foster Music has provided some
equipment. Students seem very positive about having such an option. Motion
carried.
Meeting was adjourned.
