1) Election of Chair and  Secretary.  Nomination of Terry Schlabach for Chair by D. Moeller, second by C. Herzig.  Committee vote in favor.  Nomination of M. Shockey for Secretary by M. Legg, second by C. Herzig.  Committee vote in favor.

2) Moved by Bereskin, second by Eitrheim to approve course offerings for Nursing program.  Courses considered: NURS 350 (Beginning Family); NURS 351 (Developing Family); NURS 352 (Nursing Interventions); NURS 355 (Mental Health); NURS 460 (Clinical Practice II); Pharm 320 (Pharmacology).

Discussion centered around the need for Pharmacology to be considered as a support course rather than a core course, thus requiring a designation outside the nursing curriculum.  Dolores Hilden, Nursing, and  Dean Bozik explained this would aid in the accreditation process.  The motion was approved to add the six courses to the curriculum.  Deans Bozik and Koch are requested to return to the committee with a recommendation regarding departmental/program placement of Pharm 320.

3) Motion by M. Legg, second by C. Herzig to approve addition of BIO 123 (Selected Topics) to the Biology offerings.  This will be a course offered by, and drawing upon, the expertise of various faculty and will add to the availability of General Education offerings.  During committee discussion it was determined that the course will serve as a pre-requisite for Bio 202 in specific cases, with this determination made on an individual basis.  The course was approved with the stipulation that the Biology department re-write the catalog description and forward this to EPC at their earliest convenience.  "Upon instructor approval" will also be added to Bio 202 catalog description.

4) Moved by Bereskin to adjourn.  Meeting adjourned at 3:40 PM.

Respectfully submitted,
Martha L. Shockey, PH.D.
