Minutes for the
Meeting of the Faculty Assembly
October 10, 2002
- L.
Brown called the meeting to order at 3:05pm. L. Brown then led the Assembly in a reading of an
inspirational poem.
- D.
Bozik made a motion to approve the minutes from the September 12, 2002
meeting. R. Serianz seconded. Motion was carried.
- R.
Serianz provided an update on the United Way Campaign. 45% of the SAU community has
contributed a total of $25,107 to the United Way Campaign. According to the United Way, donations
in general have been down this year as compared to previous years. SAU, however, has increased their
giving this year from 28% of the SAU Community contributing to 45% of the
SAU community contributing. There
are still 2 weeks left of fundraising and plenty of great prizes to
win.
- R.
Legg spoke to the faculty assembly to clear up any misunderstandings
regarding the recent approval of new BA/BS requirements by the EPC. If you have questions please feel free
to contact him. The remaining 8
degree programs will review their general education requirements in
accordance with their planned 5-year reviews.
- T.
Schlabach announced that the EPC would be seeking input from the faculty
concerning the content structure of the new themes at the next Faculty
Assembly meeting. Members are
encouraged to come and provide feedback.
- D.
Hilden announced that the nursing department would be holding their annual
Halloween contest this year.
Individuals and departments are encouraged to dress up and possibly
win prizes.
- L. Brown
reminded everyone that the next Faculty Assembly meeting would be held
November 14, 2002 at 3:05pm in Galvin 160.
- A move
to adjourn was made by R. Serianz and seconded by B. Jacobson. The motion carried and the assembly
adjourned at 3:23pm.
Respectfully Submitted,
Tracy J. Schuster
