Proposals Submitted Under NON EXEMPT Status

11 copies of exempt research proposals must be submitted to Maryann Striegel in the Assessment and Institutional Research office (located on the north side of Ambrose Hall, under the brick archway)one week before the meeting date.

PLEASE NOTE: All proposals that are not submitted using the proper format will not be reviewed by the IRB Committee and will be returned to the investigator(s).
  1. Research that involves human subjects (A human participant is a living individual about whom or from whom an investigator obtains data through intervention or interaction with the individual or obtains identifiable private information) when the researcher can identify the subjects (through names, social security numbers, etc) – this may include surveys, case studies, in-depth interviews, etc.
  2. Research that involves vulnerable populations (pregnant women, children 17 and younger, incarcerated individuals, developmentally disabled individuals, etc) or anyone who could reasonably be considered vulnerable.
  3. Any research that involves more than minimal risk (see above).
