Mission: 125

Helping out with Habitat For Humanity

Mission:125 celebrates the University's mission and dedication to service by challenging all alumni, students, parents, faculty and staff to volunteer 125 hours during the university's quasquicentennial year. Our goal: to give a total of 125,000 total hours.

So far, more than 200 volunteers have logged more than 5,000 hours of service toward the Mission:125 goal. Many of those volunteers come from the SAU campus, but all Ambrosians are encouraged to get involved.

Many Ambrosians already serve their communities. Mission:125 encourages everyone to give back and to celebrate this service by tracking and publicizing it more broadly.

Volunteering could involve time spent mentoring a child, working a parish potluck, or reading at a residential nursing home. Great service opportunities exist in river or park clean-up projects, at programs that serve the less-fortunate, or a soup kitchen.

Our Catholic missions calls for us to serve our community, a call we have taken very seriously throughout our 125-year history. St. Ambrose challenges its students not only to get involved on campus and in the larger Quad City community during their student years, but also to continue that involvement in their homes. Many alumni take that message to heart, continuing with lives of service beyond their years of study at St. Ambrose.
