"Life is hard. It's harder if you're stupid." - R. Parker

This page is dedicated to sharing knowledge, ideas and perspectives on how engineering affects each of our lives whether we like it not. By embracing simple concepts of engineering, our lives may actually be improved, and in all honesty, it's not really that hard.

Teaching Philosophy:

Just jump right in!  Students have a strong desire to do well and fear making errors.  This presents a conflict early in every semester when a subject is new to the student.  It is okay to make mistakes, as that is when the opportunities to learn are found.  As the semester draws to an end, students gain confidence in their ability as they apply new knowledge which results in satisfaction.

My goal is for my students to look at things with an inquisitive eye, visualize better alternatives and use their St. Ambrose education to make those new ideas a reality.
