Personal Information

I was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan. You may have heard Saginaw mentioned in the song, America, by Simon and Garfunkel. I attended Alma College, a private, liberal arts instution, and received a B.S. degree in Biochemistry. I completed my graduate work at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and received my Ph.D. in Physiology. I moved to Iowa and began teaching at St. Ambrose University in 1993. I consider myself a true midwesterner and I enjoy living amongst farms, rivers, and genuine people.
