The St. Ambrose University Wine Festival is a community-driven volunteer event that brings dollars and awareness to the needs of future, current, and past students.
The Wine Festival is a combination of three events that focus on wine, food, and raising money for student scholarships. Having raised nearly $300,000 in the past seven years, the committee is hoping the eighth year will add $50,000 to the growing total.
Each event has a charm of its own.
Wine at the Warehouse, a tasting with Dimitri and Kathy Papgeorgiou, is a casual event on March 6 where you can try some of the wines that will be poured at the Wine Festival in May.
The Preview Dinner is the formal highlight of the Wine Festival season. A select vineyard will be on hand to showcase their wines as paired with a menu designed by St. Ambrose University Chef Michael Guerrero.
The soothing sounds of music filtering through the canopy of oak trees on the SAU campus is the backdrop of our signature event, the Wine Festival wine tasting, held May 22. Mingle with guests as you taste more than 140 wines, sample gourmet food from local restaurants and bid on silent auction items—all are good motivation to raise money for SAU students.
