What's going on.
St. Ambrose University is accredited by the Higher Learning
Commission of the North Central Association, the
largest of six regional accrediting associations in the
United States. To prepare for the re-accreditation, we have
prepared a self-study to identify our strengths and
challenges, as well as how we specifically meet the five
criteria for accreditation established by the HLC.
Why you should care.
Simply, accreditation is vital. It gives confidence to our
constituencies—our employees, parents, students,
benefactors and the broader community—that we are meeting
specific criteria that assure the quality of our programs
and services. It also means that credits and degrees earned
will be valued by employers and other educational
institutions, and that students have continued access to
federal and state financial aid.
