Guaranteed Minimum Scholarship Awards
3.5–4.0 Grade Point Average (GPA): $6000 per year scholarship award
3.0–3.49 GPA: $5000 per year scholarship award
2.5–2.99 GPA: $4000 per year scholarship award
2.0–2.49 GPA: $3000 per yearscholarship award

Fine Arts Scholarships in Art, Music, Theatre
Performance/ability; auditions held in spring: Per year scholarship award varies

Athletic Scholarships

Minority Scholarships
Need-based, academically qualified minority students; interviews held in spring: Per year scholarship award varies

Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society
Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society membership: $1000 per year for new transfer students starting for the 2008/09 academic year.

Awards are renewable each year up to a maximum of 120 credits, including transfer hours. Scholarships awarded for fall and spring semesters only. GPA is based on 4.0 scale.

How to Apply for Financial Aid

  • Send in your completed application for admission, including all supporting materials (test scores, official transcripts, etc.). Include high school transcripts as well as transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended. Only students who have been accepted for admission, are attending St. Ambrose full-time on the main campus and are degree-seeking are eligible to receive financial awards. On-campus residency is not required.
  • As soon as possible, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You can obtain information on FAFSA and their application process at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
  • Iowa Tuition Grant deadline—June 1
    All Iowa residents are eligible for consideration for this need-based grant.
  • St. Ambrose priority deadline—March 15
    Students who submit the FAFSA before this date will have priority in receiving institutional funds and funds with limited sources.
