The Catich Gallery and
Digital Archives
The Catich Gallery
The Catich Gallery is an exhibit space for
students to present their artwork to the public. We also present the work of
professional artists and other programs for the benefit of the campus and
local communities. The gallery is named after Fr. Edward Catich, who
established the St. Ambrose Art Department.
The Catich Gallery is open throughout the academic year from 1-5 p.m.
Tuesday through Friday. The gallery is also open during the summer by
appointment. For more information, please call 563/333-6444 or
563/333-6428.
The Catich Digital Collection
The
Catich Collection provides digital access to the artwork of Fr.
Edward Catich (1906-1979). Fr. Catich, one of the world's finest
calligraphers, was known as an international authority on stone incising,
typography and stained glass fabrication, and as the foremost authority on
the Roman alphabet, its origin, nature and history. St. Ambrose houses the
world's largest collection of Fr. Catich's work.
