Fine Arts Scholarships

The Department of Art has scholarships available to students who show exemplary talent in their artwork. 

Art Scholarship
Available for talented students who submit a portfolio of their work and fit the criteria.

2009 Deadline: Portfolio reviews for scholarships can be scheduled by appointment for Saturday, January 24 and Saturday, February 21, 2009. To schedule, call Terri Buesing-Flynn at 563/333-6001. 

Portfolio Submission Guidelines:

• Include 10 - 15 pieces of art demonstrating the breadth and depth of artistic experience. Examples of each major medium, artistic concept and genre that you've successfully attempted are welcome for review.
• Areas of personal interest and concentration should also be featured.
• It is important to include original images made from observation. Subjects may include landscapes, figure or still life sketches.
• Rough drawings reveal a lot about the student's thinking process, so include a sketchbook if available. Completeness and perfection are not essential criteria when determining artistic possibilities from sketchbooks.
