Robin Freund - Tennis

Inducted into Hall of Fame in 1992

Major Robin Allen Freund was a tennis standout for the Bees. In 1968 the team won the first Midlands Conference Tournament. They compiled a 10-0 record against some of the best university and college teams in the Midwest.

Freund was a District 15 champion in each of his four years at St. Ambrose. He also reached the NAIA National Tournament in each of those years.

In addition to tennis, Major Freund was involved in the Monogram Club. He also participated in intramural flag football and basketball.

Following his time at St. Ambrose, Major Freund served in Vietnam as part of the United States Air Force. Later he went on to become the tennis coach at the Academy Prep School for the Air Force.

Major Freund graduated in 1968 with a degree in mathematics.
