Bob Jurevitz - Football
Inducted into Hall of Fame in 1992
Robert James Jurevitz played football for the Bees from 1982 to 1985. During
his time, the team compiled a 27-13-3 record under head coach John Furlong.
He was captain and team MVP all four years. At the time of his graduation he was
the Iowa collegiate all-time leading rusher with 5,162 yards. That record was
also good for second on the St. Ambrose all-time rushing yards list, which he
got on 920 carries (also 2nd), averaging 5.6 yards per carry (good for 7th on
the Bees all-time list). In addition, he is the Bees all-time leader in rushing
touchdowns with 64 and scoring with 414 points.
He had an outstanding 1985 campaign, rushing for 1,424 yards (6th place) on 311
carries (2nd place) while scoring an SAU all-time record 27 touchdowns, 8 more
than the 2nd place record. His successful year earned him the single season
scoring record with 162 points. Jurevitz says he best remembers having a
nationally ranked football team in 1985 and being named Offensive MVP in his
last game.
Jurevitz graduated in 1986.
