Leonard S. Czarnecki - Basketball, Track, Tennis

Inducted into Hall of Fame in 1988

Leonard Czarnecki was a three-sport athlete for the Bees from 1948-1952, participating in basketball, tennis and track. During his basketball career, the team compiled a record of 55-33 under coaches Jim O’Connor and Bob Duax.

He left St. Ambrose as an accomplished athlete. He was a four year letter winner, basketball team captain in 1952, All Conference in 1951 and 1952, and All-Catholic All-American in 1952.

Czarnecki says he best remembers beating Loras College, being selected as an All-Catholic All-American, and being selected to tryout with the Syracuse Nationals, a professional basketball franchise from 1946-1963 currently known as the Philadelphia 76ers.

Czarnecki graduated in 1952.
