Former Ambrose Golf Standout Making Noise on Hooters Tour

Former St. Ambrose University golf standout, Joe Demory, recently netted his career best finish while participating on the NGA Hooters Tour in Orlando, Florida. The Sterling, IL, native fired rounds of 68-68-72, (-8) to finish in a tie for fourth place at Rio Pinar Country Club, FL. Demory has made cuts in two of his first four tournaments in 2007, attaining $5,037 overall earnings for the season.

“After a nice Christmas break, I have been working hard on my game, and it’s rewarding to see the hardwork pay off”, said Demory following his final round. “All week I hit the ball well, putted well early, and put myself in position going into the final round.” While having success this week, Demory remains humble. “I feel very fortunate and blessed to have the opportunity to play golf at the professional level and hope to have continued success.”

Just two years removed from SAU, Demory finds himself in his second season of professional golf following his dominant career as a Fighting Bee. While at SAU, Demory was a two-time NAIA All-American, winning 11 collegiate events and breaking school records that include the lowest individual stroke average (71.9), most wins in a season (5), and lowest 18, 36, and 54-hole tournament records.

The NGA Hooters Professional Golf Tour continues to be the number one developmental tour in the United States for aspiring professionals to begin their careers. The Hooters Tour is the third largest men’s professional golf tour in the country, only behind the PGA and Nationwide Tours.
