Russell named MCC Player of the Week |

After helping the Queen Bees to a first place finish at the season opening Embry-Riddle kickoff tournament, Emily Russell’s play in the second week of the season garnered her Player of the Week honors in the Midwest Classic Conference. During the week, the Queen Bees went 2-3, including a solid 30-20, 30-23, 30-24 win over Quad City rival Augustana College. For the week, Russell had 49 kills, 73 digs, a handful of blocks, and a few aces. “It’s a reward for the hard work she put in over the summer,” head coach Bruce Billingsley said. “She improved her strength and conditioning level, and it really shows.” Russell, a junior captain from Woodstock, Illinois is majoring in Occupational Therapy. |
