5/17/06 Roesler was the spark plug in the middle of the Bee's order all season, starting in all 49 games, while batting .373 (57-for-153). Roesler led the team in doubles (22), RBI (37) and slugging percentage (.588). The sophomore also finished the season with three home runs, 28 runs scored, and a triple, as well as being tied for the team lead in total bases with 90. Martin was selected to the MCC All-Conference team for the third consecutive year. Last season's Player of the Year also started all 49 games for the Bees. The senior batted .357 (55-for-154), while tying for the team-high of five home runs. Martin also added 24 RBI, while hitting 13 doubles and two triples. Martin finished the season with 87 total bases, while drawing a team-high 33 walks. Martin recorded a .565 slugging percentage this season. SAU finished the year with a 26-23 record, going 14-13 in the Midwest Classic Conference, which was good enough for fifth place. The Bees struggled on the road, going 9-16 away from the friendly confines of John O'Donnell Stadium. SAU finished with a 12-5 mark in games played at JOD. |
