Getting the Most Out of a Recruitment Visit Being recruited by a college can be an exciting experience for a student athlete. One of the best parts is the campus visit. It can be a very enjoyable and informational experience. That is our goal. An athlete must always remember the visit isn’t strictly a social occasion; that he is being toured around the campus, meeting the coaches, and checking the facilities for a purpose, and that is to evaluate the school while the school is just as carefully evaluating you. In the midst of all the excitement, that’s an easy point for the athlete to miss. A key to the recruiting visit is developing a list of important questions that must be asked and answered. It is also important that an athlete and his family develop a list of pro’s and con’s of each school visited. It will be up to the athlete and his family to determine which factors are more important. Factors may include; location, school size, degree offerings, athletic program, facilities, scholarships, school philosophy, faculty, coaching staff, and etc. The recruiting experience can be a great learning experience, but more importantly it should place you in a school and athletic program that best suits your needs. Ten questions that should be asked during a recruiting visit
