Fighting Bees Throttle Warriors

The trip back home for the No. 13 St. Ambrose Fighting Bees will probably be their easiest of the season as they defeated the Waldorf Warriors 70-0 at Bolstroff Field in Forest City, Iowa.

The Fighting Bees jumped out to a 42-0 halftime lead and racked up over 400 yards in total offense in that same span.  After playing a few series' in the second half, many of the Bees reserves saw action.

Running back Larry Williams dominated the game, racking up 216 yards on the ground on 14 carries, three for touchdowns.  Williams had touchdown runs of 3, 41 and 39 on the day.

Running back Joe Schimmel also had another outstanding game, playing limited minutes Schimmel rushed 15 times for 153 yards and three touchdowns.  Schimmel scampered 3, 42 and 43 yards for his three scores.

Quarterback Jeff Kietzman played well in his second game at the helm of the Fighting Bees offense completing 12-of-15 for 171 yards and two touchdowns.  Kietman also rushed six times for 64 yards including a 56 touchdown run.

Leading the receiving core was tight end Ryan Antonik, who hauled in three passes for 109 yards and a touchdown on the day.  

Wide receiver Andy Ford also added a touchdown and caught two passes for 41 yards on the day.

The Fighting Bees defense held the Warriors to 47 total offensive yards while the Fighting Bees offense racked up 729 yards.  The Fighting Bees also had four times as many first downs (20-5) than the Warriors.

The Fighting Bees will next travel to Ft. Wayne, Ind. to take on the University of St. Francis Cougars next Saturday, September 27th.  The Cougars were ranked one spot ahead of the Bees heading into the weekend at No. 12.  Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. CDT.
