DAVENPORT, Iowa — Apparently winning a rivalry game over an NCAA Division III opponent only pleases two of the three polls. With a 16-14 win over the Loras Duhawks last Saturday, the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees moved up in the NAIA poll, stayed the same in the NAIAFootball.net poll and fell in the Don Hansen poll. The
Fighting Bees jumped to seventh in the NAIA poll after being ranked eighth
in the preseason poll. The first poll of the season, released on Tuesday,
also has Fighting Bees MSFA Midwest foes McKendree (tenth) and Trinity
International (24th) ranked as well. The
Fighting Bees will host McKendree on Nov. 6, at Brady Street Stadium.
Trinity International will travel to Davenport, Iowa, on Oct. 9, for the
Fighting Bees homecoming game. Both games will kickoff at 1 p.m. In
the NAIAFootball.net poll, the Fighting Bees stayed right where they were
a week ago in the sixth spot. McKendree (1-0) is tenth, while Trinity
International (1-1) is 16th. Don
Hansen’s weekly poll has the Fighting Bees falling to 11th
and out of being in the Top 10 in all three polls, despite the win.
McKendree is ninth and Trinity International is 19th. Despite
starting the season 0-2, Saint Xavier cracks the poll at 22nd. The
Fighting Bees have their home opener this weekend when the welcome the
Waldorf Warriors (1-1) to Brady Street Stadium this Saturday. Kickoff is
set for 1 p.m. Last season in Forest City, the Fighting Bees routed the
Warriors 70-0. The
