Fighting Bees Drop Heartbreaker

The shots would not fall for the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees on a night where they almost overcame a 21 point deficit in their 86-76 loss to the Mt. St. Clare Mounties (7-17, 4-3).

Matt Fitzpatrick led the Fighting Bees in scoring with 27 points while dishing out six assists and coming away with four steals.  Tom Pavljasevic added 18 points while grabbing eight boards and dishing out five assists.

The Mounties came to play, and it showed as they got up by as many as 21 at one point in the game.  Leading the Mounties was Ben Erwin, who had a contest best 30 points.  Sandro Tovalin added 17 while grabbing 13 rebounds.

The Fighting Bees will next take on the Statesmen of William Penn on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with the women's game to follow.  Both games are at Lee Lohman Arena.
