Halftime Score:

Emmaus Bible College - 16;

Tom Pavljasevic - 16

In the night cap of the St. Ambrose Classic, the No. 19 St. Ambrose Fighting Bees set a new school record for widest margin of victory, easily defeating the Emmaus Bible College Eagles by the final score of 104-40.

In a game where the final score could have easily been a  lot worse and none of the starters saw any action in the second half (and limited minutes in the first half), 14 of the 15 Fighting Bees scored.

Four players scored in double digits, with Tom Pavljasevic leading the list with 16 points.  Pavljasevic also grabbed six rebounds, dished out two assists and stole two passes in 12 minutes of action.  Chad Tancil also added a career high 14 points and three assists; Reggie Zorg had career highs in points and rebounds, scoring 11 points and five boards; and Matt Fitzpatrick added ten points as well as dishing out a game high eight assists.

Other players reached career highs: Tadd Crist scored six points and grabbed nine rebounds; D.J. Brown scored six points; Joe Barrer added four assists and five rebounds.

The Fighting Bees shot 63.9% on the night and 50% from beyond the arc.  They stole 13 passes and dished out 38 assists while only committing 11 turnovers.  Two other records that were broken on the night were least number of team fouls committed in one half and a game.  The Fighting Bees only committed one foul in the second half and only committed seven for the game.

Emmaus shot 22.4% from the field and were 5-of-36 from beyond the arc.  Leading the Eagles and the only player to score in double digits was Mike Gallagher with 11 points and grabbed four rebounds.  Justin Elgard committed a game high 12 turnovers, but added seven points.

The opening game of the St. Ambrose Classic was a little more exciting, matter of fact there was a shot at the buzzer to send the game into overtime.  Larry English's (Barat College) shot from 14 feet left his hands as the second half buzzer sounded and locking the game at 66 and sending the game into the extra period.

Overtime would not turn out to be as promising for Barat as they were defeated 80-76 by the No. 29 Bellevue, Neb., Bruins.  The Bruins were led by T.J. Flannagan and Luther Hall both scored 19 points.  Flannagan also grabbed a game high 14 rebounds.  Also in double digits were Jared Anderson and Nick Minzel scored 15 and 12 points, respectively.

The Bulldogs were led by English who scored a game high 23 points while dishing out five assists.  Terrence Gulley and Tim Smith scored 18 and 14 points, respectively.

The consolation game between Barat and Emmaus will be held at 1:00 p.m. with the consolation game following either 20 minutes after the consolation game or 3:00 p.m. with Bellevue taking on the host Fighting Bees.
