Fighting Bees Cannot Complete ComebackThe St. Ambrose University Fighting Bees (5-5) fell to the Olivet Nazarene Tigers (6-5) by the final score of 82-74. It wasn't meant to be for the Fighting Bees on this day as the Tigers sank all but one of their free throws, going 16 of 17 from the charity stripe, including 14 of 14 in the second half. The Fighting Bees however could not get their free throws to drop, and it proved to be costly as they went 9 for 19, and losing by eight. Free throw shooting has seemed to plague the Fighting Bees in four of their five losses. The Fighting Bees had three players come away with double figures in points. Karl Petersen had a team high 20 points while grabbing six rebounds and Tom Pavljasevic added 13. Matt Fitzpatrick had a game high eight assists while adding seven points. Curtis Clark also had a team high, coming in the form of rebounds, as he grabbed seven in his five point, three assist performance. The Tigers had strong performances from four players, who all scored in double figures. Leading the way was Jeremy Ridle who had a game high 23 points while contributing four assists. Tony Hodge had 19 points and seven rebounds in his 32 minute performance. Marcus Lyte and Andy McCormick both had ten points each. Lyte finished with eight boards and five assists, while McCormick grabbed four rebounds. The Fighting Bees will take the next two weeks off before traveling to the St. Xavier Tournament held in Chicago, Ill. December 20, 21, 22. For a look at the brackets and game times, click here.
