Hot second half gets Bees back on track

The No. 18 St.
Ambrose Fighting Bees took on Missouri Baptist in game one of The
Franciscan University Tournament. Missouri Baptist came in to the contest
undefeated, but the Fighting Bees handed them their first loss of the
season with an 88-73 victory.
Both teams had
trouble finding the basket in the first half, as the Fighting Bees jumped
out to a 31-28 halftime lead. St. Ambrose shot 11 of 30 (36.7%) from the
field, but held Missouri Baptist to 8 of 27 (29.6%) from the field.
The Fighting
Bees came out sizzling in the second half, as they shot a remarkable 22 of
30 from the field (73.3%). St. Ambrose held Missouri Baptist to 44.4%
shooting in the second half and outscored them 57-45.
Four Bees
scored in double figures led by Karl Petersen with 19 points and 15
rebounds. Matt Fitzpatrick scored 18 points and added nine rebounds and
five assists. Chad Tancil also scored 18 points and Ryan Johnson chipped
in with 13. St. Ambrose outrebounded Missouri Baptist 45-32and held them
to 38% shooting from the field.
