Fighting Bees Win Seventh
of the Year

DAVENPORT, IOWA- The No. 18-ranked St. Ambrose
Fighting Bees had their best defensive effort of the season, limiting the
St. Francis (IL) Fighting Saints to 16 first half points, en route to a
79-54 victory. The Fighting
Bees improved to 7-1 on the season.
Five Bees were in double figures with Davenport Assumption
graduate Matt Fitzpatrick leading the way with 13 points, 10 assists and 4
steals.
Also in double figures were Davenport Central graduate Karl
Petersen, who added 14 points. Nick
Ferreira came off the bench to add 14 points as well. Ryan Johnson added 13 and Chad Tancil added 12.
The Fighting Saints (1-4), who shot a dismal 28 percent in
the first half were led by Jon Womack and Melvin Williams, both added 10
points.
The Fighting Bees will travel to Bourbannais, Ill. this
weekend to take on NAIA Division I 24th-ranked Olivet Nazarene.
