Fighting Bees Fall For Only Second Time
of Season

CHICAGO – The No. 8-ranked St.
Ambrose Fighting Bees dropped only their second game in 14 tries Saturday
night in the Saint Xavier Holiday Tournament.
The Master’s College (Calif.) Mustangs handed the Bees a 97-77
loss.
The
loss now moves the Fighting Bees to the consolation game of the
tournament, which will be held today at 4 p.m.
The Fighting Bees
started the game with an 8-0 run, but went flat midway through the first
half and ended up shooting 38.6-percent from the field for the game.
The Bees did have 9 players in the scoring column.
Leading
the way were Karl Petersen and Chad Tancil, who both added 16.
Petersen and Ryan Johnson both had a game high 8 boards.
The
only other player in double figures was Brett Jacobs, who had 13 points.
Jacobs also added 7 rebounds.
The
Mustangs did lead by as many 26, but the Bees battled back to within as
many as 12, but it was not enough as the Mustangs pulled away.
Leading the way for the Mustangs
was Ryan Read. Read had a
game high 20 points. Keron
Wilkerson had 17, Caleb Adcock added 16 and Lavar Simmons dropped in 10
points on the night.
The Fighting Bees only other loss
of the season came at the hands of Chicago State University (NCAA Division
I) on Nov. 18.
