DAVENPORT, IOWA- The Fighting Bees hosted Viterbo in the first MCC game
of the year. St. Ambrose scored the first four points of the game and took
a 38-36 lead into the half, which saw six ties.
The halftime lead would be the last for the Fighting
Bees. Viterbo scored the first seven points of the second half en route to
a 13-2 run in the first 4:30 to take a 49-40 lead. St. Ambrose would fight
back to cut the lead to three, as Chad Tancil hit a 3-pointer with 6:40
left. The Fighting Bees would never get any closer, dropping their first
conference game of the year 86-82.
Tancil led five Fighting Bees in double figures with 20, Karl Petersen
added 18 points and 12 rebounds. Nick Ferreira had 15, Ryan Johnson added
13 and Matt Fitzpatrick chipped in with 12. Vince Ruger led Viterbo with
24 and Jeremy Fradette added 20.
