Fighting Bees
Earn Hard Fought Win LA CROSSE, WI- The St. Ambrose Fighting Bees pulled out their second straight MCC victory Saturday against Viterbo 68-60. SAU (10-8, 2-0) had trouble pulling away from the V-Hawks (9-9, 1-1) for the whole game, trailing 26-25 at halftime. They finally took a lead in the second half, but was cut to a one point lead with five and a half minutes remaining. SAU hit all eight of their free throws down the stretch to seal the victory. Chris Washington led all scorers with 19 points, to go along with five rebounds and three assists. Ryan Johnson recorded 15 points and nine rebounds, while Ante Juric contributed with 13 points. Nick Ferreira finished with 12 points, before fouling out in the second half. SAU shot 55% from three point range in the second half. Viterbo was led by Vince Ruger and Jeremy Fradette, who each finished with 16 points. B.J. Reber scored 13 for the V-Hawks. Viterbo was cold when shooting from the outside, connecting on only 20% of their three point shots. St. Ambrose will be in action again on Wednesday, at William Penn.
