Bees Lose First Conference Game OSKALOOSA, IA- Wednesday night was a battle of the last two unbeatens in the Midwest Classic Conference. After the game was over, William Penn stood as the only team with a perfect conference mark, defeating St. Ambrose 91-76. The Fighting Bees were killed in the paint 42-22, which turned out to be the difference in the game. SAU (10-9, 2-1) was led by Ryan Johnson, who had a team high 23 points, while hitting all ten of his free throw attempts. Chris Washington finished with 20 points and five rebounds. He was all over the court on the defensive end of the court, recording seven steals. SAU shot just 39% from the field for the game. Danny Lund took over the game for William Penn (11-10, 3-0) with a game high 25 points. He also finished with a game high 16 rebounds. Lund shot 9 for 13 from the field. Joe McKinstry also recorded a double double, scoring 17 while handing out ten assists. Ryan Norman and David Miller also scored in double figures with twelve and ten points, respectively. William Penn shot 57% from the floor as a team. St. Ambrose will now return home for a game Saturday against Waldorf. That game will begin at 3:00, and will be preceded by the women's game.
