Bees
Take Down Grinnell In Shootout Grinnell (0-1) is known for their run and gun play, which made St. Ambrose change their game to try and keep up. And kept up they did, shooting a scintillating 77% from the floor. They also shot 43% from three point range, going three for seven. The Bees out rebounded Grinell 60 to 40. St. Ambrose (2-2), who held a 67-60 lead going into the half, were led by Senior Nick Ferreira who recorded a career high of 35 points on 14 of 16 shooting. Ryan Johnson helped out in all aspects of the game, falling one assist shy of a triple double. He finished with 14 points, twelve rebounds, and nine assists. Sophomore Matt Wilke had his best game of his young career, scoring 24 points. Sophomore Chris Washington was perfect on the day, going seven for seven from the floor, en route to 18 points. He also distributed the ball well with eight assists. Sophomores Eric Tuftee and Brandon Mays also finished in double figures with 14 a piece. Grinnell also had six players score in double figures, led by Mike Schmidt and Matt Brown with 23 points each. Grinnell recorded 21 steals in the game to the Bees eight, but turnovers didn't decide this game. Instead it was Grinnell's inability to shoot at a high percentage. They shot just 40% from the floor, including just 28% from behind the three point line. Return to the Men's Basketball |
