SAU Softball Lends Helping
Hand
The St. Ambrose softball team
left for their Spring Break trip to Florida on March 7th for some fun and
sun in Orlando, Florida, but it wasn't all fun and games in the six days
the Queen Bees were there. SAU also helped out the community they
were staying in while they were there as they teamed up with Disney Wide
World of Sports for a community service project.
The Queen Bees helped out by
cleaning up the area around a Senior Center in Orlando, Florida. They
spent an entire afternoon at the Center and interacted with the residents
of the Center. Some residents even chipped in and helped out with the
project.
"This was a great opportunity
for us to participate in service as a team. It reminded players how
fortunate they are and opened their eyes to countless needs in the
community outside their own," head coach Bridget Murphy said.
