Christensen, Vikings too much for Queen Bees
Tiffany Christensen poured in a
game-high 27 points, as the Grand View Vikings (22-7, 10-0) swept the
season series over the Queen Bees (17-13, 7-3) with an 83-75 victory.
The MCC's top team won their 10th
consecutive conference game to secure the #1 seed in MCC tournament.
Despite shooting 28% from the field in
the first half, the Queen Bees went into the locker room only trailing by
4.
The Queen Bees came out in the second
half and shot 43%, but the Vikings matched the tempo and closed the Queen
Bees out.
Angie Schinstock posted her 15th
double-double with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Kellie Metz chipped in with
14 points.
Four Vikings scored in double figures,
as Christensen led the way with 27 and Angie Weig, Carrie Lowry and
Stephanie Parker added 12 points each.
The Queen Bees resume play on Saturday
versus Iowa Wesleyan at 3:00. The Queen Bees are looking to lock up the #2
seed with a victory.
