On the second day of the Hastings College, Neb., Tournament the No.
16 St. Ambrose Queen Bees fell hard to No. 1 Hastings, Neb. by a final score
of 105-52. The Queen Bees only managed to shoot 26.2% from the field.
Only one Queen Bees player scored in double figures, that
coming from the likes of Kerri Alvine. Alvine scored 13 points while
going 2-3 beyond the arc.
Seven of the ten Queen Bees scored with Kellie Metz following Alvine with
nine points and Trisha Carlisle not too far behind with seven.
Angie Schinstock grabbed a team high ten rebounds but only
added four points as she went 2-for-11 from the field. Kate Tuttle
added six points and five rebounds.
The Queen Bees committed 22 turnovers, compared to the 13
turnovers committed by Hastings. They were also out rebounded b 25
as Hastings came away with 58 rebounds and St. Ambrose with 33.
Leading the way for the Broncos were five player who
scored in double figures. Jami Lipker led all scorers with 19.
Stephanie Shaw, Carly Stucky, Carrie Hofstetter and Katie Dent scored 16,
13, 11 and 11 points, respectively. Elizabeth Herbek led all
rebounders with 13 rebounds on the night.
The Queen Bees will face off against the Doane College
Tigers on Saturday to finish out the tournament. The Queen Bees will
the travel to Platteville, Wis., to take on the University of Wisconsin -
Platteville on November 23 at 7:00 p.m. before returning home on November
25 to take on Trinity International University at 7:30 p.m. at Lee Lohman
Arena.
