Queen Bees Dominate for victory
Despite the records, the battle between the St.
Ambrose Queen Bees (14-11, 4-1) and the Iowa Wesleyan Tigers (2-17, 1-4)
was a little better than most expected.
The Queen Bees dominated most of the game in their 64-50 victory
over the Tigers.
Leading the way was none other than Queen Bees
standout, Angie Schinstock, who just missed her 12th
double-double of the year as she scored 21 points and grabbed nine
rebounds. The only other Queen Bee in double figures was Kate Tuttle,
who had 11 points, six assists and four steals.
She led the game in floor burns as well.
The Tigers did not finish the game without a fight.
The Tigers were down by as many as 24, when they made a 13-0 run in the
second half, waking the IWC crowd up.
But a Queen Bees timeout and a short run of their own kept the
Tigers at bay.
The Tigers, who were limited when it came to players
on the bench (four), were led by three players in double figures.
Jodie Houchin had 16 points on the night, followed closely by Jenny
Coulson (11 points, four rebounds) and Allison Falls (10 points, 15
boards).
The Queen Bees will return home next Saturday to face
off against MCC foe, Mt. Mercy, that game will tip-off at 1:00 p.m.
followed by the men’s game.
Return to Women's
Basketball.
