Queen Bees Win Last Regular Season Game
The St. Ambrose Queen Bees (19-13, 9-3)
defeated the Mt. Mercy Mustangs (12-17, 6-6) by the score of 59-54. This
was the last regular season of the year for the Queen Bees, as they will
host the #7 Mt. St. Clare Mounties on Thursday. The Queen Bees wrapped up
the #2 seed with a victory on Saturday.
Angie Schinstock posted her 16th
double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
The Mustangs led the Queen Bees 23-22 at
the half before the Queen Bees took the ball inside, which led to 24 free
throw attempts in the second half. The Queen Bees converted on 18 of the
24 second half attempts and23 of 32 for the game.
Kellie Metz added 15 points for the
Queen Bees and Michelle Kurth chipped in with 11.
Brandy Schmit led three Mustangs into
double figures with 15 points.
The Queen Bess host Mt. St. Clare at
7:30 on Thursday at Lee Lohman Arena.
