Queen Bees Keep on Rolling With Fourth Straight Win
The St. Ambrose Queen Bees (16-11, 6-1)
kept their winning streak alive with a 95-69 victory over the Mt. St.
Clare Mounties (7-18, 6-1). Angie Schinstock posted her 13th double-double
of the season with a game-high 29 points and 15 rebounds.
Kate Tuttle and the Queen Bees got off
to a quick 20-5 start in the first five and a half minutes of the
ballgame, as Tuttle tallied six of her 15 first half points, in the
opening 2:46. Mt. St. Clare made a mild run to close the gap from 17 to 11
points, as the Queen Bees took a 45-34 lead into the half.
A 13-3 run to open the second half, got
the Queen Bees out to a 58-37 lead with 16:26 remaining. Angie Schinstock
took over the second half of the ballgame, as she scored 21 points and
added 7 rebounds in just an 18 minute span. The Mounties got as close as
10 points with 12:04 remaining, but Schinstock and the Queen Bees were
just too much, as the lead jumped back to 17 at the 9:35 mark.
Ten Queen Bees' scored in the 95-69
victory, while all 14 players got in the game. Kate Tuttle finished the
game with 20 points and four steals. Kellie Metz posted a near
triple-double, with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Maggie Hughes
dished out a career high 9 assists.
Alicia Mahmens led the Mounties with 17
points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Ashley Hemele and Brooke Bailey chipped
in with 12 points each.
The Queen Bees have now won 8 of their
last 9 games, as they host William Penn at Lee Lohman Arena on
Saturday.
