by: Ryan Holtmann Sports Information

11/25/2002  10:28 a.m.

The St. Ambrose Queen Bees (2-6) are facing a very difficult schedule and it is showing.  The University of Wisconsin-Platteville handed the Queen Bees their fourth consecutive loss on Saturday night by defeating them 84-81.

Leading the way for the Queen Bees were Angie Schinstock and Kellie Metz.  Schinstock had a game high 31 points and grabbed eight rebounds.  Metz had 14 points and four boards, despite fouling out.

The Queen Bees trailed 73-60 with 6:15 to go, but managed to cut the lead to one twice, but never eclipsing that.  The Queen Bees did go on a 14-5 run to cut the lead to one with 1:38 seconds to go, but lay-up by Shannon Boatman put the Pioneers up for good.

Leading the Pioneers were Angie Sisson, Tiff Flesch and Boatman.  Sisson scored a team high 21 points while dishing out a game high seven assists.  Flesch 17 points as well as coming away with four steals.  Boatman finished the game with 12 points and a game high 12 rebounds, eight of them offensive.  She also had four steals on the night.

The Queen Bees return home on Monday, November 25, to face off against the Trinity International Trojans (0-10).  The game will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. at Lee Lohman Arena.
