Another close game = Another win

DAVENPORT, IOWA- For the second straight game, the No. 12 St. Ambrose Queen Bees had a game go down to the final possession. Following a 56-55 victory over Robert Morris, the Queen Bees were taken to the limit, as they defeated Olivet Nazarene 84-82 to move their record to 4-1. 

Olivet began the game with a 10-2 lead in the first 2:30, but the Queen Bees scored the next nine points to take an 11-10 lead. Olivet jumped back in front 21-15, but the Queen Bees would go on their first of two big runs. St. Ambrose scored 21 straight points in five minutes to take a 36-21 lead. Olivet would regain their footing and cut the Ambrose lead to 43-35 at the half.

Both teams came out in the second half and traded baskets, as St. Ambrose got up by as many as nine, but Olivet cut the lead to a mere three points with 11:30 remaining. The Queen Bees went on their second big run of the game, as Autumn Salisbury hit consecutive 3-pointers to cap off a 14-3 run to give the Queen Bees a 73-59 lead.

Olivet was not done however, as they chipped at the Queen Bees lead and eventually got it down to 81-79 with two minutes remaining. Kellie Metz hit a shot to extend the lead to four, but an Olivet 3-pointer trimmed the lead to 83-82. Following a St. Ambrose turnover, Olivet had the chance to win the game, but a 3-pointer didn't fall and Angie Schinstock pulled down the rebound to clinch the victory.

Schinstock finished with another double-double, as she recorded 23 points and 13 rebounds. Metz and Salisbury added 18 points each.
