Bees grab a win

CLINTON,
IOWA- After
losing consecutive games, the Queen Bees got back to their winning ways with
a 73-68 victory over St. Scholastica.
St.
Ambrose outrebounded St. Scholastica 48-32 to grab their fifth win of the
season.
Tied
8-8, the Queen Bees rattled off nine straight points to take a 17-8 lead.
St. Scholastica came right back to tie the game at 23-23 and eventually took
a 33-31 lead until Angie Schinstock tied the game at 33-33 before the
intermission.
St.
Ambrose trailed 39-37 with 16:45 left, but scored six consecutive points to
take a 43-39 lead. The two teams traded baskets over the next five minutes
until St. Scholastica took a 55-53 lead with 7:16 remaining. With the game
tied at 58, Michelle Kurth scored the games' next four points to give St.
Ambrose a 62-58 lead with 5:17 left. The Queen Bees would never trail after
this point.
St.
Scholastica had a chance to tie the game with :30 left, but Schinstock
grabbed a rebound and iced the game with two free throws.
Schinstock
led all scorers with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Kurth and Kellie Metz each
added 12 points to send the Queen Bees to 5-3.
