Queen Bees too much for Tigers DAVENPORT, IOWA- The St. Ambrose Queen Bees (17-7, 6-0) proved to be too much to handle for the Iowa Wesleyan Tigers (3-19, 1-5), as they extended their conference winning streak to six games with a 71-55 victory.
St. Ambrose leaped out to an 8-0 lead and held Iowa Wesleyan scoreless until the 13:46 mark of the first half. The Tigers trimmed the lead to 16-9, but would never get any closer, as the Bees would dominate from there. St. Ambrose extended their first half lead to 20 and went into the half leading 39-21.
St. Ambrose controlled the second half and extended their lead to 23 with a Kellie Metz 3-pointer. The Tigers couldn't close the gap under 16 and the Queen Bees grabbed their seventh victory in a row with a 71-55 win.
Metz led four Queen Bees into double figures with 17. Michelle Kurth added 15 points, Jennifer Goetz scored 11 points and added 10 rebounds and Ali Rorah chipped in 10.
