Metz, Schinstock lead Bees DAVENPORT, Iowa – Seniors Kellie Metz and Angie Schinstock set the tempo of the game in the first half, with Schinstock dominating the first part of the half and Metz taking over in the second in the Queen Bees (19-7, 8-1) 79-57 win over Franciscan (8-13, 0-8). Schinstock opened things up by scoring 10 of the Bees first 14 points to give St. Ambrose an early 14-8 advantage. The Bees lead fluctuated from two to eleven points before they exploded in the final two minutes of the half. Leading 33-26, the Queen Bees would go on a 15-0 run in the final 1:50 of the half three 3-pointers and two 3-point plays. Kellie Metz took over the final 1:50 scoring nine of her 18 first half points in the span. The Queen Bees dominated the paint, as they outrebounded the Saints 41-22 on the night. The victory keeps the Queen Bees undefeated in conference play. Metz led the Queen Bees in scoring with 27 points in just 19 minutes of play. Schinstock added 19 points and 12 rebounds. The Queen Bees play at Viterbo on Saturday at 1:00.
