SAU Wins Third Straight

DUBUQUE, IA- After poor shooting in the first half Saturday at Clarke college, the St. Ambrose women's basketball team got it together for a 74-63 win.  The Queen Bees shot just 38% in the first half, but turned it around to shoot 58% during the second half.  SAU made all three of their three pointers during the second half.  This marks the third three game winning streak of the season for St. Ambrose (9-6).

The Queen Bees were led once again by Jennifer Goetz, who had yet another double double, with 18 points and 14 rebounds.  She also had a team high four assists.  Over the course of the three game winning streak, Goetz is averaging 18.5 points and 14.5 rebounds per game.  Cathy Mangan also scored in double figures on Saturday with ten.

Clarke (3-4) was led by Leigh Ann Koopmann, who finished with 14 points and eleven boards.  Jessi Briggs and Jamie Loggins each had ten points for the Crusaders.  They also added six and five assists, respectively.

The Queen Bees will now have a couple weeks to rest before they return to action on December 27th at the St. Xavier Tournament in Chicago, IL.
