Queen Bees Win Easily

Box Score

The St. Ambrose women's basketball team got out to a 14-2 lead Saturday against Silver Lake College (0-4) and never looked back, winning 72-38 in day one action of the River Cities Classic.  15 of the 16 players that entered the game for St. Ambrose (6-3) scored at least one point.  The key stat of the game was the 32 turnovers that St. Ambrose forced.  They only turned it over 14 times themselves.

Jennifer Goetz was the only Queen Bee to score in double figures, leading the team with ten points.  Sarah Dentlinger was a force to be reckoned with on the boards, as she grabbed 12 rebounds.  SAU shot 33% from the floor for the game, but were unstoppable at the free throw line, shooting 85% from the charity stripe.

Silver Lake's Lindsay Rozmarynoski led all scorers with 19 points, including nailing five of eight three pointers.  Carrie Schnell grabbed thirteen rebounds for Silver Lake.

In the other game in the River Cities Classic, Mckendree defeated The Franciscan University 72-67.  SAU will tangle with McKendree tomorrow in the 4:00 game.  That will be preceded by the Silver Lake/Franciscan game at 2:00 at Lee Lohman Arena.
