SAU Loses to Viterbo

DAVENPORT, IA- Viterbo led during the final 36 minutes of the game, as St. Ambrose lost Wednesday to the conference leading V-Hawks 76-58.  The Queen Bees cut the lead to five points with two minutes left in the first half, but that's as close as they could get the rest of the way.

 

St. Ambrose (14-12, 4-4) was led by Jennifer Goetz with 17 points, five rebounds, and four blocks.  Jodi Wulff came off the bench to score 13 for the Queen Bees.  Cathy Mangan also contributed with eight points and a season high nine rebounds.

 

Viterbo (12-14, 7-1) had four players score in double figures.  Shelly Brueggen scored 20, to go along with seven rebounds, six assists, and five steals.  Anne Wilson chipped in with 19 points and five boards.  Cassi Bauch and Kari Thiel had twelve and eleven points, respectively.

 

The Queen Bees next game will be Wednesday at Lee Lohman Arena, where they'll play William Penn at 5:30.  That game will be followed by the men's contest.
