The game was closely contested in the first half, with the Queen Bees getting out to a 38-33 lead heading into halftime. SAU held the lead despite being out shot in the half 56% to 45%. SAU was cold in the first half, making one of their eight three-point attempts, but things would turn around in the second period.

St. Ambrose also won the battle on the boards, grabbing 36 rebounds (21 offensive), compared to 27 total rebounds for Trinity International (3-1).

The Queen Bees were led by Jennifer Goetz, who scored a game-high 22 points, while also grabbing six rebounds and recording three assists. Casey Breitbach scored 12 in the game, while Jena Zientek had one of her best games so far this season, scoring eleven points and grabbing nine rebounds, including five on the offensive end.
