|
Jon Mannall begins his
fourth season as the women's soccer coach at St. Ambrose in 2006. Mannall
has accumulated a record of 25-34-3 at the helm for of the Bees.
Jon hails from London, England and has been involved in soccer in the Quad City Area for the past 8 years. A graduate of the now defunct Marycrest International University, Jon received conference honors in soccer while also playing basketball for the Marauding Eagles. Jon began coaching at the club level during college for fun, and to help pay the bills. After gaining success, Jon began to delve further into coaching helping with local High Schools and other club programs in the Quad Cities. The transition from high school to college came quickly when Jon was hired as the St. Ambrose Women's Assistant coach after gradating from college in three years. "I never really went looking for coaching soccer at first, the coaching seemed to find me." |
|
With the collegiate experience, Jon went took a head coaching job at Davenport North High School. Jon's first season was a success, finishing second in conference and earning the MAC Coach of the Year Award.
When the head coaching position became available at St. Ambrose University in the summer of 2003 Jon was confident he was ready for the next step in his coaching career. "I believe that I have learned a great deal from the other coaches that I have been fortunate to be coached under, in a variety of sports. I am very involved with the players in practice which enables me to see first hand where changes need to be made. I feel this approach gets a good response from players and helps to build a team bond between all players and coaching staff alike." "My experience within and around the game has enabled me to identify the difference between the game overseas and here in the US. I strive to assist my players not only with the skills and tactics of the game but the passion and knowledge to be able to play the game at the next level." Contact - mannalljone@sau.edu |
