Birthday girls scores big in Bees winJOLIET, Ill. -- Another regional opponent, St. Francis, proved to be another stiff opponent for the Bee’s. Both teams had fought some tough opposition, but it was the Bees who took a 3-0 advantage at the half. A pair of goals from birthday girl, Amanda Wilford, and a PK from freshman Lindy Shaw saw the SAU take advantage of some great play.“This was some of the best ball movement and attacking play we have seen from the team all year," head coach Jon Mannall said. "We could have had a couple more in the first half and they would of been well deserved.” The home side mounted a much bigger challenge in the second half and would ruin the clean sheet for the Bees with a PK. Wilford completed her well deserved hatrick from a precision through-ball from freshman Kori Saner. “It was a good team performance and it was a product of our last few games of playing some good opposition and then finally taking some of the opportunities that we had created," Mannall said. "It was also great to celebrate a 21st birthday with a hatrick for Amanda.”
